Pet Corner is for stories about pet’s problems and how astrology gives insight into their personality and present events that are affecting them. Some people don’t realize that astrology pertains to animals as well. I’ll give you a few examples.
I recently gave a lecture at a Samoyed Dog Club. Prior to arriving I asked if the owners of the dogs would have their date of birth so I could accurately interpret the dogs charts. When I arrived, I noticed one owner having problems with her dog. I felt sorry for the dog and the owner. I asked for the owner’s
birth date, as well as, the dog’s birth date. The dog had a Mars in
Sagittarius which made his personality into “I’ll do what I want, when I want.” The owner’s Moon was in Virgo which makes her into a perfectionist and needs her dog to be as well. Well, compatibility was lacking. Everything came down to a stormy relationship and a dog who doesn’t like to do what other people tell him to do. This dog will not be a show dog which the owner was hoping for. If she gives up the idea of creating a show dog the problem still remains that they will have a stormy relationship.
Personally I would have suggested she give the dog away to someone who is a free spirit.
Another example is my first cockatiel bird I had back in 1997. “Truelove” and I got along very well since we were very compatible. She bonded to me immediately and we were constant companions even through the short bout of cancer that I had. I looked ahead in her chart to see if I was still going to be around and noticed a Saturn square Venus. I was worried that I wasn’t going to last or maybe I would be working more that would cause me not to be around as much. Months slipped by and I forgot about Truelove’s aspects. One day we went out together to go to the store like we always did. Just be we approached the automatic door Truelove suddenly flew off my shoulder and up into the sky. She was flying in circles enjoying her freedom while I was trying to call her down. One swift breeze took her north. For the rest of the day I tried to find her, but to no avail. When I finally looked at her chart I realized all the aspects showed she was restless and needed more freedom. The difficult part was I couldn’t help her through the trials of being in the wild. I could see she was having a difficult and emotionally trying time which made me wish I could have looked at her chart before that awful event.
I would like people to realize that it’s very important to know your pet’s
birth date, so you can be aware of potential problems. If you have a pet, date of birth, and a problem please feel free to contact me at suzanh@astrology101.com.
